KENNEBEC SAVINGS BANK HIRES NEW CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
Andrew E. Silsby, Senior Vice President & Treasurer of Kennebec Savings Bank, recently announced that the Bank is welcoming a new member to senior management; Dorcas B. Riley, as Vice President & Chief Financial Officer.

Riley has an impressive career in the field of public accounting and financial management, with over twenty-five years in those capacities, most recently as Chief Financial Officer for Performance Food Group NorthCenter in Augusta. Her departmental responsibilities have included all aspects of the finance function from general accounting and information technology, to credit and inventory control, as well as human resources management. She has served on asset/liability committees, and managed interest rate risk in her positions, and has been responsible for internal reporting and external regulatory filings.
Dorcas is excited about joining the team at KSB. “I have always had the utmost respect for Kennebec Savings Bank, its employees and its philosophy,” she said. “As a customer, as well someone who cares deeply about community and community involvement, I appreciate the level of commitment the Bank has in central Maine and I am humbled by the opportunity to serve at this very successful, well respected and stable institution.”
Riley comes to this position with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Colby College in Waterville. She also completed her accounting course work at Thomas College. She is very active in the local community, currently serving as a board member to the Kennebec Valley Chamber of Commerce and United Way of Kennebec Valley, where she is also Assistant Treasurer. She has been a Trustee and Treasurer of the Dr. Shaw Memorial Library for more than 10 years.
“Dorcas is going to be an excellent addition to the KSB family,” said Silsby. “The Bank has grown immensely in the past ten years and Dorcas’ experience will help us as we approach that $1 billion asset mark over the next few years.”
Riley lives with her husband, John Bechard, in Mount Vernon.
